"meme love" is a participatory reconstruction of a formative viral image from the artist's adolescence, originally depicting the rigid high school social hierarchy of "nerds" versus "popular" students. For the twelve-year-old artist, the meme offered a transformative fantasy, revealing that the "popular guy" was secretly attracted to the "nerd girl" avatar she identified with.

Revisiting this artifact as an adult, the artist deconstructs the binary logic of these teen romance tropes. By introducing an additional row of characters and stripping away the original pre- determined relationships, she opens the narrative to user intervention.
